Charting Software

eSignal is an excellent charting package in it's own right. It is further enhanced by the SST DayTrader plug-in which runs within, or "plugs into" the eSignal program.

You will need the "Advanced charting" facility which is available on all eSignal products except "eSignal Basic". The version we recommend is:

eSignal Premier

The Premier version is fantastic and can be obtained on a one month trial*. This is the version I am running myself and recommend. This version has Real Time prices and charts.

N.B. The Plug-in will not work with the eSignal version that is dedicated to "Advanced GET studies".

Switching to eSignal
If you currently subscribe to a different charting package then you are obviously considering a switch to eSignal. This can seem an important decision because of having to get used to a different environment. I have found that almost everyone who has switched to eSignal like it so much that they do not consider switching back to their old charting software. Obviously there is a learning curve to go through but having been through it myself, it is not so bad.

I would strongly suggest that you give eSignal a try by taking advantage of the free one month offer*. It is an excellent charting package and capable of doing far more than most traders will ever need, enhanced even further by the SST DayTrader. I personally had to make the switch and do not regret it for a moment. After all, this is the only real overhead we have in trading and if we are risking our money on the markets, we MUST use the best tools available to help us.

The monthly subscription for eSignal Premier is approximately (Jan 07) $115 (appx £62.90). To subscribe to New York Stock exchange costs $1. To add other exchanges such as European (inc UK) or Australian is an additional amount between $1 and $14 pm. Almost any exchange can be obtained. These rates are not bad at all for quality Real Time software. Specialty markets such as commodities or Forex are more expensive to add.

Should I get eSignal first?
Yes. In order to use an SST DayTrader you need both eSignal and the SST DayTrader plug-in . It is best to get eSignal and install it to make sure it is working correctly before subscribing to the SST DayTrader plug-in.
