Trouble with the connection for data or communication with my server
to validate your username and license or cannot access my website.
Possibly Unable to open SwingTrader.

There are generally two causes of this.

1. If you have tried to enter your SwingTrader username incorrectly three or more times your computer (IP address) can be blocked by the firewall on my website server. If this happens try re-booting your computer and if you are using a router/ modem/ firewall you MUST re-boot that as well because most broadband users have a dynamic IP address which changes every time the router is re-booted. To be on the safe side switch your pc and router/modem off overnight and re-boot the next day. If that doesn't work and you have a static IP address (doesn't change) you can either change your IP address (use the link below) or email me your IP address and I can get it unblocked from my server. It will usually take 24 hours to remove the block.

If you do not know your IP address or you wish to check it and see if it has changed after re-booting your modem or need to know how to change it or ANY additional information about IP addresses go to www.whatismyip.com

2. If you have anti virus software (such as Norton) and it is set to be very sensitive it can block the communication with Yahoo & Google data servers or my server which prevents the validation of your username and license. It can also block access to my other website pages. Usually this can be solved by turning down the sensitivity then re-booting the pc. If that doesn't work try turning the anti virus off and re-booting the pc just to test if the connection then works. If everything then works you will know that the anti virus is still too sensitive.

In extreme cases such as using a sensitive anti virus in addition to a firewall or just an over sensitive firewall it can block SwingTrader and prevent it from opening. This can also be the case with Windows Vista and Windows 7 when the anti virus protection is set very high. Just disabling the anti virus may not work if the firewall is also very sensitive. If possible try to connect to my site from another pc or laptop to isolate the problem to one machine. If it is down to one machine then you may need to uninstall the anti virus software, re-boot the pc then re-install the anti virus software and turn down the sensitivity and re-boot again.

I am sorry if this is inconvenient to you but anti virus software and firewall's are becoming so sophisticated and sensitive these days that there is nothing I can do from my end, the problem is that your set up will not allow your pc to communicate with certain other sites because it is afraid of picking up a virus.

My site is checked for viruses on an ongoing basis and I do everything possible to make sure it is "clean".
